Times they are a changing...

As you may have guessed from the “for lease” sign in front of the building, things are changing at MisKnits.

Th
e last three years have been an incredible experience for me personally, in learning, building new friendships, and finding fun ways to get people excited about knitting. These years have also had their unexpected challenges such as dealing with opossums, fires in the alley and successfully teaching a blind woman how to knit a scarf.

When I set out to create MisKnits my goal was to provide high quality yarns, tools and classes to both new and experienced hand knitters in a relaxing environment that promotes community and creativity.  I feel that goal has been well served, and with the lease on the building coming up for renewal, I feel that the timing is right to make a personal change and move on to other adventures…with my family.

In the month of April, MisKnits will be moving from the physical plane of
Terrace Street, to the ethereal plane of the internet. MisKnits.com will be re-imagined to be your on-line/local source for discount yarn, yarn dying and hand painting supplies, knitting needles, books and notions.

Starting March 10th the store will only be open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, with our last official day of business being on Sunday April 11th.  We will continue to have UFO night on Wednesday evenings.

Come in and check out our clearance items, we will be marking down yarn to 20%, 50% and in some cases 75% off.  Also, we will be selling all the fixtures and furniture. So if you would like to own your own wine rack style shelf for yarn, or anything else, come in and talk to us.

I want to thank everyone for your support and friendship over the years, and plan to still be in touch through the Sunflower Knitter’s Guild, and at informal gatherings of knitters in the Kansas City area.

I especially want to thank Tim, Teri and Emily, without all your help and support I could not have gotten through these last few months.  You guys are awesome!

Amber
